Blaze Top Table With Convincing Win
Posted on October 13th, 2008An armada of minibuses ferried Birmingham Blaze (and their supporters) up the M1 to Edinburgh, and they returned south with three points in the bag, making it 2 wins out of two for the Midlands side.
A goal from Fraser K, plus an own goal sealed a two-nil win - in the first GFSN game to be played on Scottish soil.
Meanwhile, Nottingham secured a convincing win over Yorkshire Terriers 7-2, whilst Leicester Wildecats travelled to Brighton, winning 2-1.
The top three places in the table are now occupied by all three Midlands clubs - the only teams maintaining a 100% record so far in the league.
Meanwhile, one of the greatest shocks of GFSN history almost occcured… Leftfooters were winning 1-nil at Bournemouth, until two late goals snatched victory for the south coast side.
Finally, London Falcons found themselves 2-nil down against London Titans, before pulling off the comeback of all comebacks - eventually winning 4-2.
Attentions turn to the GFSN Cup for the next round of fixtures, with Cardiff Dragons, Newcastle Panthers and Stonewall all making their debuts in a GFSN 11-a-side competition.
