Four separate weekends, four Cup Quarter-Finals - and there were some enthralling ties being played.
On Sunday 18th January, Falcons GFC travelled to the West Midlands hoping to defeat high-flying Birmingham Blaze. Only a fortnight previously, the London side were humbled 2-nil at home against the same opposition in the league.
But Falcons battled hard at Moor Lane and they came away with a precious semi-final spot after defeating Blaze 2-1.
The following weekend (25th Jan), London Titans travelled the long journey north to Edinburgh to take on the Hotscots.
In a topsy-turvey match, the Scottish side raced into a 2-nil lead within 10 minutes. However the visitors fought back to - astonishingly - lead 3-2 after only half-an-hour.
The home side quickly equalized before half-time, and although Titans had more of the possession in the second period, Hotscots showed their ruthlessness infront of goal to streak ahead and win 6-3.
On 1st February, Yorkshire’s woeful record on the south coast continued when the succumbed to GFC Bournemouth 1-nil. The Terriers have never won on the south coast (either at Brighton or Bournemouth) although the game was only decided by the solitary goal.
Finally, Village Manchester and Stonewall Apprentices contest the final quarter-final this weekend (8th Feb) in the north-west to decide the final semi-final spot. Good luck to both teams!
